OBJECTIVE
The main objective of UIN is to promote Naturopathy and Yoga in treating various diseases. Naturopathy treats the underlying cause of the disease rather than solely treating or suppressing the symptoms. Symptoms of disease are seen as warning signals of improper functioning in one or more organs of the body. This approach has proven successful in treating both chronic and acute diseases. It is in fact, the advent of a new drugless regimen in patient care which is educative, curative and also preventive, with no side effects.
UIN has earned world-wide acclaim in rendering service to patients suffering from various types of diseases like asthma, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, migraine, abdomen/liver problems etc. without using any kind of allopathic medicines, injections, invasive surgeries etc. The treatment is based on judicious blending of the ancient concept of nature cure and yoga with modern diagnostic equipments, and treatment aids. It attracts several thousands of people from different parts of the country besides patients from all over the world. It has provided effective relief/cure to the patients, most of whom feel very happy and satisfied.
As a result of excellent services provided and personalised attention given to the patients, there is a heavy demand for admissions and at times there is a long waiting period also. The Center is making sincere efforts to increase the intake by expanding the infrastructure so as to meet the increasing demand without creating any inconvenience to the visitors. It is constantly on the lookout to improve the methods of treatment and facilities to provide better relief/satisfaction to the patients.
NATUROPATHY
Naturopathy is a natural healing technique using the healing powers of nature. The principle of Naturopathy is that the accumulation of toxins is the root cause of all diseases. Prevention and elimination of toxins is the route to health. Treatments are based on the 5 great elements of nature that have immense healing properties. There is no role of internal medications in the nature cure system.
Naturopathic treatments include hydrotherapy, mud therapy, fasting therapy, manipulative therapy, diet etc.
Hydrotherapy: Treating with water in the form of compress, packs, fomentation, various tub baths, water massages, aquatic exercises, and enema and colon hydrotherapy.Mud therapy: Mud is one of the five elements of nature having immense impact on the body in health as well as sicknes
Manipulative therapy: It includes various therapeutic massages like oil massage, vibro massage, hot stone massage, deep tissue massage and Kairali massage.
Fasting Therapy: Langanam parama oushadham” Fasting is the supreme cure. In UNI we practice therapeutic fasting in which specific juices/soups are given as per disease condition. It helps in elimination of the toxins by giving rest to the digestive system and enhancing the healing properties within our system.
Yoga: Yoga is an ancient, extremely subtle science, that unites the body, mind and the soul. The purpose of yoga is to establish harmony between body and mind which leads to healthy and disease free life. The therapeutic uses of yoga is well known. Yoga therapy primarily comprises of yogic kriyas, asana, pranayama, eye exercises and relaxation techniques. We teach disease specific yogasanas and pranayamas depending on the patient’s condition.
